It took about a year, but the link to privately message someone is now available in every post under their avatar/user info.
Also, at the top of the page, the PM link is now titled "Messages" and is toward the right end of the header bar.

New forum skin/style/whatever you want to call it
I added a new skin called "Cellfuse" which I'm kinda fond of...I think I just grew tired of seeing the exact same layout on every PunBB site I went to.
Anyway, if you wanna test drive it, go into your Profile, select the Display link, then select 'cellfuse' from the bottom of the styles list.
